AN ORDINANCE TO ALLOW FOR THE REMOVAL OF SNOW OR FOR STREET CLEANING WITHIN THE CITY OF MINTO, NORTH DAKOTA, PROVIDING PARKING REGULATIONS FOR VEHICLES PARKED ON STREETS, AVENUES, HIGHWAYS, PUBLIC WAYS, PUBLIC PROPERTY AND ALLEYS, DURING THE PERIOD SPECIFIED AND PROVIDING PENALTIES.
BE IT ORDAINED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
Parking for snow removal or street cleaning: Notice.

After a notice has been given by the Minto Street Department that vehicles shall not be parked on streets, avenues, highways, public ways, public property or alleys in the City while snow removal or street cleaning occurs, no vehicles shall be parked thereon during the period specified.

The notice required herein shall be given via a local radio or television station or by posting on the thoroughfares at least (6) hours prior to the time the prohibition of parking shall be in effect.

Any vehicles found parked after such notice may be removed and impounded, and the owner charged the cost of towing and storage. The charge shall be paid prior to release of the vehicle.
Penalties.
Any vehicle left standing upon any of the streets, alleys, highways, public ways, or public property of the City in violation of this article is hereby declared to constitute a public nuisance, and same shall forthwith be abated by any elected or appointed official of the City. He shall cause any such parking vehicle to be forthwith removed from the streets to a City pound area or City parking lot or to a different location in the general area where originally parked or such other place as may be designated by the Mayor or Auditor and shall permit the same to be returned to the owner only upon payment of removal costs, and a storage fee of five dollars ($5.00) per day for the first seven (7) days and three dollars ($3.00) per day thereafter in addition to any fines or penalties hereinafter provided.
Effective Date.
This ordinance shall take effect and be in force from and after its passage, approval and publication.
